Our Purpose
Rock Haven Ministries is a non-denominational ministry created over 75 years ago to advance the Gospel of Christ by establishing ministries that assist, enhance, and build up the local church. Though times and methods have changed over the years, the saving power of Christ to change lives has not. Rock Haven Ministries’ passion is still to carry the Gospel to those who need Christ in the Ozark Mountains. Our mission is to help churches and families raise up the next generation of Christian young people so that they will stand for God throughout their lives. While we do this through several different ministries in the local area, the primary ministry of the Mission is Rock Haven Bible Camp.
Rock Haven Bible Camp provides a quality Christ-centered camping program and facility where youth and families can enjoy a safe and wholesome environment for the purpose of spiritual growth and refreshment. It is this ministry’s purpose and goal to introduce boys and girls to the Lord Jesus Christ and to see them grow spiritually, and in doing so, building up the body of Christ (the church).
Our Six Core Values summarize the purpose behind everything we do in camp ministry:
To bring campers to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
To provide an environment for Christian growth through preaching (one to many), teaching (one to some), and discipling (one to one).
To encourage campers to participate in Christian service by providing opportunities to serve and by exemplifying service.
To provide positive Christian role models who will share the love of Christ with the campers while building friendships with them, earning the right to be heard and reach them for Christ.
To provide an opportunity for Spiritual growth for camp staff.
To make camp affordable to families that might not otherwise be able to fit camp into their budget.
Our Passion
Rock Haven Bible Camp provides campers, between the ages of 8 and 18, attending summer camp the opportunity to enjoy an exciting program in a beautiful outdoor environment. They will spend a week in a cabin with other young people their age and participate in a program shaped to meet their needs, lovingly watched over by older cabin attendants. Young people can enjoy such activities as swimming, paintball, and gaga ball, as well as a host of other camping activities.
But summer camp at Rock Haven is about so much more than fun. Our middle name is “Bible” for a reason. Our passion and desire are to use the camp environment as an opportunity to share God’s word and to see students changed by the power of Jesus. To that end, students attend chapel services and Bible study classes to deepen their knowledge and understanding of God’s Word.
In addition to the summer camp program, Rock Haven Bible Camp also offers retreats in the spring and fall for both youth and adult groups. The camp facilities are also available for rental groups to use in hosting church-led camps, retreats, staff trainings, or other events. Families can also rent facilities for special events depending on availability and Mission approval.
Our Faith
We believe that the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God, is inerrant in the original manuscripts and uniquely infallible, our only authority for faith and practice.
We believe that there is one God, creator, and sustainer of the universe, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His substitutionary sacrifice upon the cross, in His bodily resurrection, in His victory over sin and His enemy Satan, in His present exaltation at His Father’s right hand, and in His personal return, at any time, in power and great glory.
We believe in the fall and the lostness of man, whose total depravity requires that he be regenerated by the Holy Spirit for his salvation.
We believe that salvation consists of the forgiveness of sins, the imputation of Christ’s righteousness, and the gift of eternal life, received by grace through faith alone, entirely apart from works.
We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life, and by whom the Church, the Body of Christ, is gifted and equipped to serve and glorify God.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all mankind: those who have trusted in Christ, the ultimate Judge, will receive everlasting life and blessedness in heaven; those who have not will receive everlasting punishment and separation from the presence of God.
We believe that Christ has commanded His Church to preach the gospel to all people, and that this mandate should be a primary concern of all Christians.
